Spaces to hire

Art Gene offers a range of spaces for long-term lets in our facility, located in the centre of Barrow. We also offer short-term lets on spaces suitable for meetings, functions, hot-desking and conferences.

Spaces for hire at Art Gene fall broadly into three categories:

• Studio, workshop and production spaces
• Office, IT and hot desking spaces
• Meeting, function, conference and exhibition spaces

Art Gene are currently looking for established, creative, future-focused businesses that can add to the skills base within our facility.

We are looking for individuals and companies who would enjoy, benefit from and contribute to a busy working environment where international artists-in-residence regularly come together with the wider multidisciplinary teams of our associates (including ecologists, writers, artists, historians and communities) to create projects and participate in a variety of events such as walks, talks, trips, tours, exhibitions, charrettes and seminars.

If you can make an (informal) contribution to our research remit, which explores the role of architects, artists, communities and other specialists in re-envisioning our social, natural and built environment, you are whole-heartedly encouraged to apply! Prices and details on request.

How do I book a space and how much will it cost?

First download and complete an enquiry form for the space(s) you are interested in here. Email your completed enquiry form to Norman Wild here and he will contact you to discuss availability, room rates, terms and conditions/contract within 7 days.

As we offer concessionary rates to local groups, charities, arts organisations and creative individuals it is not possible to list all price variations here. The minimum hire duration is usually one day. Unfortunately we are not normally able to offer hourly rates.
