Home Composting for Beginners with Garden Organic

Art Gene is delighted to be joined by Garden Organic’s Frankie Kennett and Monique Speksnyder for this course on home composting. The morning session will give you the skills and knowledge you need to turn your waste into something that will benefit your garden. The course will help you to improve your composting skills whether you are a complete beginner or already have some composting knowledge.

• Explore the composting process and all the great reasons to compost at home
• Discover what you can and can’t put into your compost bin
• Get tips on home composting and the different types of compost bins available.

If you are interested in helping others to compost and would like the opportunity to become a Master Composter in Cumbria, you can join the follow-on session on in the afternoon.

Become a Master Composter – Saturday 11th March 2023, 2pm-4.30pm follow on session (morning session should be attended, too.)

The Master Composter Induction Training will guide you through the steps to take your composting knowledge to the next level to become a Volunteer Master Composter.

• Learn about ways to enthuse and support other people in your community to compost at home
• Volunteer Master Composters are asked to commit at least 30 hours a year to spreading the composting message and will receive complimentary Garden Organic membership and ongoing online training opportunities as well as coordinator support.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided. The gallery has lift access. Level access from the street is available and should be requested in advance.

We encourage you to travel sustainably if it’s possible for you. You can bring your bike in. If you’re travelling by bus, Ramsden Square and Coronation Gardens are both a 5 minute walk away.
