From Micro to Mighty: Open archive event: Walney Shelter (not the tram stop…) and Technical Tales.

We are pleased to be involved in two mini heritage projects supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Westmorland and Furness Council – a celebration of the Walney Shelter and the collection of memories linked to Barrow’s Old Technical College, now the Nan Tait Centre. We’re launching these projects together with a gathering at the archives.

Come along on Wednesday 6th March, to learn about the history of the Nan Tait Centre and the Walney shelter with archivist, Susan Benson, and local historians, Michael Quinn and Peter Laird, and share your memories with us.

Join us Wednesday 6th March, 6.30 – 8.30pm at the Barrow Archive & Local Studies Centre in Barrow Library, Ramsden Square, Barrow-in-Furness, LA14 1LL. All are welcome. Art Gene will provide refreshments.
