RUTH PRINGLE

Ruth Pringle is an artist and educator who’s practice spans installation, sound, film and writing. Through her work Ruth tries to give glimpses of a world which works on an alternative logic, creating work that appears lighthearted while containing a sadness towards the systems which prevent such alternatives from ever being real.

Ruth first came to Art Gene as an artist in residence, in 2007, and has since returned to participate in Re-Visioning Utopia, an intensive 4 day of research field trips and debates in 2009; has been a guest curator for U Hang, 2014, and Digital U, 2017; and supported Art Gene’s Gene Pool Residency, a 10 day residency in August 2017 with artists Sophie Lindsey and Di McGhee.

“I’ve been involved with Art Gene in various ways. I genuinely love their creativity, their holistic approaches – and their ambition. I am proud to play a part in it.”
