Peter Horrocks

Introduction

We were first introduced to Peter Horrocks by another associate Marianne Heaslip (Urbed Architects, Manchester) as she was working with us to develop our Roker Pods project to RIBA Stage D. We were looking for someone who could develop high quality visualisations ahead of build-stages to raise the profile of our projects.

Peter has also worked with us in the initial stages of our Barrow-by-Design Shop Fronts Design Scheme in partnership with Barrow Borough Council. Art Gene worked with over thirty small independent traders to re-design their premises, build confidence and seed a wider interest in revitalising town centre retail environments across the Borough.

(At time of writing) Peter is developing visualisations for our concept modular business park and we are looking forward to working with him more intensively as projects in development across the islands of Barrow and around Morecambe Bay are further developed in the coming months.

Peter Horrocks (UK/ Netherlands)

Following  qualification as an Architect in 2002 I have developed a particular interest in work that is generated from collaborations between artists and architects.

Prior to my involvement with Art Gene, which began in 2010, I had been involved with a number of other artist groups in the North of England.

I am now based in Amsterdam and am beginning to specialise in small scale design consultancy and visualisation having established a number of repeat clients.

Aside from my involvement with Architecture and Art I have been an Interior Design and Architecture tutor at two English Universities.
