Art & Environment Workshops this Summer

Join artist Maddi Nicholson and Naturalist Pete Burton for family workshops at the Isle of Walney Community Growing Space this August, and become an eco warrior!

This August join Furness artists and creatives for fun activities for children, families and young people in and around Barrow.

As part of the programme of events, Art Gene’s Maddi Nicholson will host Art & Environment workshops for children aged 7 – 11 at the Isle of Walney Community Growing Space. We will be joined for some workshops by Furness based Naturalist Pete Burton to explore the plants and animals that can be found on Walney Island, before transforming our findings into drawings to create wearable artwork with an environmental message.

You can also join indoor theatre Sessions with the Ashton Group Theatre, animation sessions with Signal Film & Media, and outdoor performance workshops with Gary Bridgens. These sessions have been made possibly by Love Barrow Together with funding from Lankelly Chase to create positive experiences for young people and families in Barrow, with thanks also to Womens Community Matters and Drop Zone Youth Projects.

All workshops are free. Booking is essential! Contact Courtney at Dropzone for full details and to book: / 07492 496 523
