Allotment Soup Open Day Saturday 10th June 2023


Join Art Gene on the Saturday 10th June for our Allotment Soup open day, in celebration of The Great Big Green Week.

We will be serving a simple afternoon cream tea, with family friendly workshops, activities and stalls.

Do your bit for a Zero Carbon Cumbria, biodiversity and the environment.

1.30 – 2.00pm – Talk: What is permaculture and why is it good for us? Amy Stretch Parker (Art Gene)

2.00 – 3.00pm – Foraging and mocktail making for families, led by Kate Davis (Art Gene)

2.45 – 3.30pm – Tea and scones served

3.00 – 3.30pm – Learn about the latest Back On Our Map activity, led by Jo Sayers (University of Cumbria)

3.00 – 3.30pm – Exploring nature, a family activity led by Susan Camish (Natural England)

3.30 – 4.00pm –  Composting masterclass led by Ann Holden and Bob Nelson, both Master Composters and Art Gene volunteers

Seed swap stall and low carbon solar energy display will be on throughout the event, please bring along any surplus crops or seeds to swap with others or donate.

All session times are approximate.

The event is free, however we do ask that you book your place via our Eventbrite link below. All welcome. 1 – 4pm.
