Sans Facon

Sans Façon is an art practice that responds to the relationship between people and place. Working internationally, their approach renews awareness and tempts interaction with the surroundings, and is realised through networks of communities, organisations and individuals.

Current projects include: Watershed+, Calgary, Canada; Seattle CSO Art Master Plan, Seattle, Washington; East 9th, Lawrence, Kansas; Limelight: Saturday Night, fourteen cities worldwide, You Are Here, Sheffield, UK.

In 2007 they collaborated with Art Gene as lead artist on the Building Schools for the Future programme, Durham, UK.

A temporary installation, Silent Fairground is comprised of a carousal and fairground attraction installed on a road to nowhere—a road under construction as part of an industrial redevelopment in Hagen, Germany. Commissioned as part of the Urbane Lights Ruhr, an artistic festival of light organized by Urban Künste Ruhr, the installation ran for nine days attracting thousands of visitors.
